New book: Física - Uma Introdução
Física - Uma Introdução is an introductory physics textbook for scientists and engineers, co-authored by a CFTC researcher and published by Edições do Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa. It covers the essentials of classical physics - including mechanics, electromagnetism and thermodynamics - thus providing a firm foundation that can be built on in later, more advanced courses. This book grew out of a first-year physics course now taught for several years as part of the degree programme on Mathematics for Technology and Enterprise at the Lisbon Engineering School (ISEL) of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon (IPL). It is a rigorous yet accessible treatment, comprising many worked-out examples and end-of-chapter problems to help readers achieve mastery of the subject.
